You accidentally captured a row of hybrids in the background by the way. All four of them are probably only driven due to the tax benefits for fuel efficient company cars.

One week. Leaving next Sunday morning. We are thinking about renting a car on Saturday and just driving around the countryside. Duurtlang already recommended the Louwman Museum in the Haugue. Anything else we should try to do? We are here for a conference so there won’t be too much free time.
I did notice a lot of plug-in hybrid cars with advertising on them. Also saw a brand new Volvo XC90 plug-in at a charger. Think it was a tax benefit purchase too? We also saw a Telsa Model S taxi which is something I haven't seen in the States.

The Louwman Museum is great indeed, you should really visit that one, since it is quite close to Amsterdam. Next to that I can’t really think of something close-ish to Amsterdam, besides sightseeing in Amsterdam. Most of the things I know of are more towards the south. Driving around the countryside sounds like a great idea, though.
Yeah, that Volvo XC90 T8 plug-in is quite likely to have been a company car too, they have quite a large tax benefit compared to other 400+ hp cars. Schiphol has got 167 Tesla taxis, so we’re quite used to them here in the Netherlands. Sometimes I even see them around where I live. That is 150+ km from Schiphol, though, so that is quite the risky trip because they don’t really pass any Superchargers on that route.

Just about everything here is a hatchback or wagon. That being said, there do seem to be more “crossovers” around than the last time I was here and among the few sedan/saloon cars, the 3-series seems to be the most popular.

I quite like these cars. I remember when they first came out. I was going for a drink with a mate in Preston, England when I first saw one at a dealership. I had to go over and have a look. I liked the little kink going up the B pillar.
Now after all this time (seven years), it still looks good but showing it’s age.

Yes definitely showing its age. But as far as superminis go it still looks quite good like you said.
